We are half way through the first nine weeks, and things are moving faster than ever at HHS! The football team is 1-3 with a hard-fought victory over Tishomingo last week and are beginning district play versus VA tonight. The fastpitch team is highly-ranked and is battling to stay alive in the playoffs against Colbert in District action. High school cross country is off and running with a top 4 finish at Walters this week and a race on the horizon next Tuesday at Velma. The Pride of Healdton is sounding loud and proud at the football games and getting ready for some state and district competitions. High School academic team begins its season this coming Monday at Wilson.
FCCLA is over a hundred members strong and doing great things at HHS and in the community. They have many activities planned for this year and will be delivering blankets and money to the Veteran’s Center in Ardmore on Monday, September 26. Our newest group, FCA, has newly-elected officers and will be attending Gameday at Southeastern this Saturday. They have also had their first meeting this month and will meet again for SEE YOU AT THE POLE at the end of the month. Student Council is planning another fun-filled Spirit Week for homecoming in the month of October. They will also be hosting a blood drive in the near future.
We will be hosting a local ACT test on Tuesday, September 27 for any junior or senior at HHS. We also have a college/career fair planned for the end of October with over 20 institutions and businesses signed up to attend.
Not a bad start to another exciting year at HHS!
